Aerohive provides cloud-enabled distributed intelligence WiFi for clients. Four Rivers participated in the company’s $25M Series D round in 2011, alongside NEA, with Kleiner Perkins and Lightspeed Venture Partners participating. Aerohive successfully completed its IPO in March 2014.

Carbonite (Nasdaq: CARB)

Carbonite provides automatic, secure online backup for consumers and small businesses, with anytime, anywhere access to their stored files. Four Rivers led the $5.2M Series B-2 round in 2007, with Menlo Ventures participating. Carbonite successfully completed its IPO in August 2011.


Clutter is the future of self-storage. They pick it up, store it, and bring it back. Four Rivers invested in Clutter alongside Sequoia Capital in 2016.

Corrigo (JLL)

Corrigo is a software and services company that specializes in the management of facilities in multi-site environments. Four Rivers participated in the company’s Series 5 round in 2007, alongside Sierra Ventures and Asset Management. Corrigo was acquired by JLL for $75 million in 2015.

Fire Eye

FireEye is the leading provider of next-generation threat protection focused on combating advanced malware, zero-day and targeted attacks. FireEye's Malware Protection Systems feature a signature-less analysis engine that utilizes the most sophisticated virtual execution engine in the world to stop advanced threats that attack over Web and email. Four Rivers led the $6M Series E round in 2010, with Sequoia Capital and Norwest Venture Partners participating. FireEye successfully completed its IPO in September, 2013.

Kahuna provides intelligent mobile marketing automation software that enables marketers to delight customers and drive mobile engagement and revenue. Four Rivers invested in Kahuna’s Series B round in 2015, alongside Sequoia Capital.


Namely provides all-in-one HR software for medium sized businesses. The company considers itself “HR for Humans” and sells payroll, benefits, and talent management solutions in a simple, easy to use package. Four Rivers invested in Namely alongside Sequoia Capital in 2016.


Numerify uses a cloud-based delivery model to make IT analytics easily and rapidly accessible to enterprises. Four Rivers co-led the company’s Series B round in 2015, alongside Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Power Reviews (Nasdaq: BV)

Power Reviews is a leader in social commerce and has built innovative social solutions at every stage of the social commerce journey to help clients connect with customers, learn from them, and sell more. Four Rivers led the $10M Series C round in 2011, with Menlo Ventures participating. Power Reviews was sold to Bazaarvoice for $168 million in 2012.

Return Path

Return Path is the world leader in email certification and scoring, and it helps subscribers have a better experience with email by reducing their exposure to spam, phishing and other malicious messages. Four Rivers participated in the company’s $8M Series E round in 2009, alongside Sutter Hill Ventures, Union Square Ventures, and Foundry Group.


This company provides an online platform for scientists to share knowledge, discover new knowledge, and advance research. Four Rivers led the company’s Series D round in 2015, with existing investors Benchmark Capital and Tenaya participating.

Sabrix (Thompson Reuters)

Sabrix provided software that automated sales and use tax calculations for small and medium sized businesses. Four Rivers led the $8M Series E round in 2007, with Trinity Ventures and Mohr Davidow Ventures participating. The company was sold to Thomson Reuters for $135 million in 2009.


Satmetrix is the market leader at delivering customer experience products that increase retention, repurchase, and referrals. The company’s solutions mobilize an organization to act on customer feedback at every customer interaction point. Four Rivers led the $5M Series D round in 2008, with Sutter Hill Ventures participating.

Thousand Eyes

Thousand Eyes instantly identifies problems in a network by providing end to end visibility across all the networks in an organization. Four Rivers invested in Thousand Eyes alongside Sequoia Capital in 2015.


Vidyo provides high-definition, multi-party video conferencing using ordinary laptops, desktops, tablets, and smartphones. The company also provides low-cost, high definition room-based video conferencing solutions. Four Rivers led the $25M Series C round in 2010, with Menlo Ventures, Rho Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Fund participating.

New Relic

New Relic is the all-in-one web application performance solution that lets you see performance from the end user experience down to the line of application code. Four Rivers led the $15M Series D round in 2011, with Benchmark Capital and Trinity Ventures participating. New Relic successfully completed its IPO in December 2014.

AssureRx Health

AssureRx Health is a personalized medicine company dedicated to helping clinicians determine the right drug for individual patients suffering from medical conditions. Four Rivers led the $12M Series C round in 2012, with Sequoia Capital and Claremont Creek Ventures participating. Assurex was acquired by Myriad Genetics for up to $410 million in cash in August 2016.


Nexenta Systems is the world’s leading provider of Software-defined Storage solutions. The company’s flagship software-only platform, NexentaStor, delivers high-performance, ultra-scalable, cloud- and virtualization-optimized storage management. Privately held, Nexenta is headquartered in Santa Clara, California.


Talari Networks is redefining WAN reliability and application performance quality. By aggregating multiple diverse networks into a virtual WAN and continuously adapting traffic based on the availability and real-time quality of the network paths, Talari ensures applications that rely on a WAN are not affected by underlying network issues. Four Rivers led an $18M Series C round in 2013, with Menlo Ventures participating.


Check is a multi-award-winning mobile billpay app that alleviates the hassle and stress associated with financial management for 10+ million people. Four Rivers invested in Check in November 2013 and the company was acquired by Intuit for $360 million in 2014.


AgilOne’s mission is to bring revolutionary predictive marketing to everyday marketers. Our technology applies self-learning, predictive algorithms and triggers the right hyper-personalized message or right-sized offer at the right time. Four Rivers invested in AgilOne’s Series C round in 2014, alongside Sequoia Capital and Mayfield.

Simply Measured is the market leader in social media analytics and measurement. Four Rivers invested in the company’s Series C round in 2014, alongside Trinity Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners.


Tintri has built smart application-aware storage that sees, learns, and adapts to help IT organizations focus on virtualized applications, instead of managing storage infrastructure. Tintri smart storage is able to see how applications behave at the virtualization layer, and then presents the information in a way that’s useful to storage and virtualization professionals. Four Rivers invested in Tintri in 2014, alongside Lightspeed Venture Partners and NEA. Tintri completed its IPO in June, 2017.


D2L is the creator of Brightspace, the world’s first truly integrated learning platform. The company improves learning through data-driven technology that helps deliver a personalized experience to every learner, regardless of geography or ability. The platform is used by more than 1,100 clients and 15 million learners in higher education, K-12, healthcare, government, and the enterprise sector. Four Rivers invested in D2L’s Series B round in 2014, alongside NEA.

Instart Logic

Instart Logic was created with a single mission: bringing an intelligent, fast and scalable solution to the challenges of application delivery to companies whose business depends on cloud application performance. Four Rivers invested in Instart Logic in 2014, alongside Andreesen Horowitz, Greylock, Kleiner Perkins, and Sutter Hill Ventures.

Dtex Systems

Dtex Systems combines endpoint visibility, user behavior intelligence, and expert services to stop insider threats. Four Rivers led the Series B in 2016, alongside Norwest Venture Partners and Wing Venture Partners.
